自2007年10月後，住在澳洲的永久居民，若欲申請成為公民者，都需要參加公民考試
申請者的流程是：送出公民申請=>考試=>宣示
公民考試制度，相關資訊如下：
1. 預約考試日期
預約考試日期一定要打電話131 880約，目前沒有其他的管道
約好之後約五個工作天，應試中心會寄來一封信(可選email或一般郵件)
確認考試時間地點及提醒當天需攜帶的文件
公民考試是要收費的，不過不是當天考試而是在申請公民時才繳費
最一般的類別一個人的費用是澳幣$260
2. 準備考試
考試內容不外乎以下各範圍：
Australia’s values 澳洲價值觀
Australian history, culture and geography 澳洲歷史文化地理
Australia’s national symbols and emblems 澳洲國家標誌如國旗國歌國徽等
Australia’s parliamentary system of government 澳洲政府國會制度
the responsibilities and privileges of being an Australian citizen.澳洲公民的權利義務
所有的內容都在這本Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond.手冊裡
3. 進行考試
考試當天記得要攜帶護照以及出生證明正本
同時請準時到達，前30分鐘是註冊及拍照，之後才開始考試
這裡有電腦操作答題流程介紹，可以幫助考生了解考試怎麼進行
因為考試同時也在測驗英文能力所以是用英文，不能選擇其他語言
考試是電腦試題，多重選擇題，考試時間以45分鐘為限，從200題的題庫中隨機挑選20題應答
2009法令更新後需答對15題以上才算及格，其中有三個題目是不能答錯的
這三題是有關澳洲公民的權利與義務
(也就是即使只錯一題但那題是屬於不能錯的題目，一樣是不及格)

After my graduation, I was sponsored by my company so that I could apply for PR in Australia. According the immigration law, PR can apply for citizenship after four years living in and one year PR holder. Hope it will help you.
it is glad to hear response from you.how long does the term of PR valid after issue?is PR possibly cancelled if sponsor wolud not vouch for applicant of people?how does the step of transfer from working visa to PR? any advice would be highly appreciated so much!! 版主回覆：(05/12/2010 10:14:33 AM) I was applying RSMS sponsor visa which allowed me to have PR straight. The application of PR could take 2 to 6 months to process (if your attached paperwork are all ok). Otherwise, some of my friends were waiting 4 their PR more than 1 year.
